Equine Careers

I have been reading a lot about equine careers lately. Here are some very cool, but unusual equine jobs that maybe you haven't thought of before.
1. Artist/designer for Breyer horses and animals. Someone has to design and make all those horse models! I wonder if they get paid well because the models are so expensive!
2. Riding clothes designer. As riders, we all need functional riding clothes. We also want them to look nice, too.
3. A mounted park ranger. You are probably all familiar with park rangers at your local state or national park. But some parks are so big or have acres of remote areas that require the rangers to ride horses to get around.
4. Olympic team groomers. You'd get front row seats at the Olympic equestrian events! Not to mention getting to hang out with all those super trained horses.
5. Sports commentator. You have to know something about horses in order to be a commentator for horse shows. There would be a lot of traveling with job, which would be a big plus.

Liz,
There are other 'Equine Careers' one of which requires good rubber boots and washing one's hands when done with each stall. LOL
You have to start somewhere I guess.
Any news on when the barn will start to be built?
Mr. Steve
The barn man said, "This week." That was last week. Then later he said, "At the end of this week."
I am hoping someone will be here tomorrow.
Sheryl the woman who owns the barn where Sailor is told my Mom that the barn contractor took 6 months to do her friend's barn. But my Mom said that was probably because the barn was a lot bigger and that he might had had difficulty getting the trusses. When I heard 6 months my heart SANK!
Oh, that stinks about the barn! But those carreer options are good... and by the way, I read an article in the Boston Globe recently about a woman who makes her living by taking pictures of horses. Have you thought about that? That would be perfect for you!
And the park ranger sounds good. That's actually my dream, to be galloping through Central Park in NYC.
I would LOVE to take pictures of horses. That would be so much fun!
I would need a better camera than I have now. I have a decent digital camera, but I got it because it was a compact size for traveling. It doesn't have a lot of features.
The other problem is that it is a couple of years old and now the number of pixels in most digital cameras have gone way up. My photos don't come out as sharp as I would like, which means I can't enlarge them.
My riding teacher's great-grandfather is the one who started the stables in Central Park! I met her grandfather once and he told me stories all about growing up in Central Park at the horse stables. I thought that was pretty cool.
I would like to take pictures of horses, too. Or maybe paint them. I love painting horses.
I WANT A DIGITAL CAMERA!!!!!!! For the past quadrillion years, I've settled for 1893546754753490343447393436347 disposable cameras and I want a real one.
And that's really cool that your riding teacher's great-grandfather started riding there. I want to at least get better treatment for all of those run-down poor excuses for horses who pull the carriages.
