If Your Horse Could Talk...

Let's suppose your horse could talk. What would he or she say?

"Get off my back?"

"Ooh, that girth pinches!"

"Hurry up. Hurry up. I am tired of holding my hoof up!"

"Would you please give me a better tasting snack? And more of them!"

"Go buy a car!"

"You've gained a lot of weight this year."

Probably nothing that harsh. Horses may nurse a grudge for a while, but they get over it. Animals don't stay mad. Except maybe cats. But then, who knows about cats? Cats will walk away while you're trying to talk to them. But cats are another post! :)

if the pony i sometimes ride is any judgement, he would say (when i'm riding up to a jump) "hey, hey, its a jump! let's charge around the ring because i like jumps!" this pony (about 11h tall) would jump over the barn if i would let him.

Liza,
Wow! What a nice Mom you have that she drives you all the way to Acton!

There used to be stables in West Medford. Somewhere along the Mystic Valley Parkway area. But that was many years ago, so perhaps they aren't there anymore.

Maybe you could look up stables or equestrian in the phone book. I'd be interested in hearing what you find out.

I'll ask my sister who lives in Malden. Her friend's daughter does jumping and dressage. I'll ask what stables they go to in the area.
Cheers,

Liza,
We get snow about every 3-5 years. Where did you hear we were going to get snow? Maybe the mountains in North Carolina? I am not in a snow area.

My Mom and I did read that the jet streams are favorable for snow in the Carolinas for the month of December. It would be unbelievable to have snow on the ground around Christmastime.

Liza,
Snow IS wonderful!! I wish we had MORE!! I don't like getting my hopes up every year, and then nothing.

About 4 years ago, the weather forecast included snow. Sure enough, snowflakes started falling that afternoon. An inch or so was on the ground, and I talked my Mom into making a snowman with me. It was really hard work since there was only an inch of snow!

But the snow didn't stop! Little did my Mom and I know. If we had just waited a few more hours, we would have been able to make a snowman a lot easier! Almost 9 inches of snow fell!

The school bus got stuck on our road. The school district has a rule that the bus drivers can't leave their buses or they can get fired. We went down the road to bring the driver hot coffee and to check on him. We said we would call his wife, if he wanted. We didn't have a cell phone then.

We went home and called his wife.
She told us that her husband was diabetic and needed to eat something right away since it had been awhile since he had eaten.

So, we went back to the bus and brought him some food. My Dad called the county and said he was taking the bus driver home, but would keep an eye on the bus. He told the district that the driver was diabetic and had to get home. Good thing my Dad had 4 wheel drive!

That snowstorm is the only one I have ever experienced. I keep hoping for another though!
